We're Hiring
We are looking for college students, teachers, and tech-savvy individuals who are interested in helping to teach after-school classes and holiday camps. If you are a maker or tech lover, good with kids, and interested in teaching play-based STEAM program like coding, robotics, electronics, machine& mechanism and art, join us and have fun while working!
Being an Edventure Clubhouse instructor is a lot of fun. You get to work with kids, build cool stuff with Lego and other cool gadgets, and make good money compared to your typical college job. Most important, it is great experience in a growing field!
For our Fall and Spring classes, we hire primarily college students with an education, computer science, or technology major (although everyone is welcome to apply, including high school students).
For summer staff, we hire a combination of teachers and high school / college students.
Your job will be to lead STEAM programs – after school classes, camps, sampler sessions, workshops, etc. Program content includes Physical Science, Coding & Robotics, Machine & Mechanism, Electronics, and Art. Other role tasks are varied: developing new activities, curriculum development, coordination, etc.
Instructor Role
Role Details
This position will start part-time with 3 to 30 hours per week (depending on your availability and our need). Full time hours may be available in the summer during camps. Work hours are flexible, but availability must include class times – at least one weeknight from 4:00 to 6:00 or 6:30 to 8:30, or one weekend day or half-day. Ideally you are also available for camps and PD days (summer camps, winter camp, Spring Break camp, etc.). You’ll also be required at some weekend events.
Qualifications
- You’re a creative and energetic person who likes working with kids and exploring new ideas
- You have experience leading kids in an experiential learning setting such as school, summer camp, museum interpretation, outdoor adventure, Montessori
- Preferred if you are a teacher, an educational assistant, have teaching or camp experience
- You have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and experience communicating with children and their families
- You’re a Maker, with interest and experience designing and creating things, e.g. coding, electronics, robotics, crafting or some other way you entertain yourself and others with your creativity
- You’re comfortable using electronics, computer software, hardware and various other technologies – or very willing to learn and teach yourself
- Ideally, you have some customer service and sales experience too
